Benidorm

Located in the province of Alicante, and on the Northern part of the Costa Blanca, Benidorm is a symbol of the growth of the Spanish tourist industry. A small fishing village with a population of just 2,000 at the start of the century, it has been transformed into a tourist Mecca capable of entertaining and lodging 5,000,000 visitors per year.

Benidorm Tourist Information

Often symbolised by its high rise hotels, Benidorm is either love or hate for many. The plain truth is, it is often misunderstood. Benidorm has in fact retained much of its individuality, and indeed its Spanish outlook. It is true there are many British tourists here, but tourists pour in from all over Europe, and if anything, the atmosphere in many parts of the city is an international one.

Benidorm Spain
The beauty of Benidorm is in its diversity. A huge selection of accommodation, gastronomy and entertainment is on offer whatever your likes/dislikes, whether you are young/old. There are few places in Europe that will cater for all the family, no matter what their interest, but this is one of them. Plenty of entertainment exists for all ages; from sporting activities such as golf, tennis, athletics, water sports, paragliding, go carts, sea fishing and scuba diving, to rural attractions, cultural attractions, a hedonistic nightlife (in places), and long established classic dance scene (winter months).

Perhaps worth expanding on the winter scene is a favourite amongst retirees seeking a mild climate to spend the winter months, or to enjoy the dancing on offer. Many Benidorm Hotels feature dancing events, offering different styles such as ballroom, sequence and line dancing, amongst others.

Those looking into a Benidorm holiday (or indeed a Spanish holiday), are often interested in beaches. Benidorm’s Beaches (although largely man made) are excellent and very well maintained. Plenty of shopping opportunities also exist, ranging from souvenirs, local goods and handicrafts, to fashion items and modern shopping centres.

Benidorm Things to Do
