Marbella Beaches

Marbella boasts some excellent beaches, almost all of them convenient and well equipped. Flanked by hotels and apartments looking out across the Mediterranean Sea they are as popular as ever. The seafront and its promenade have benefited from the landscaping drive undertaken in Marbella in recent years. The result is one of the most attractive promenades on the Costa. Great care and attention is paid to litter collection throughout Marbella’s beaches, and lifeguards/police patrols are in operation.

Please see below for information on some of the most popular beaches in Marbella: –

Playa Nagueles / Nagueles Beach

Playa Nagueles is one of the larger beaches around Marbella. It stretches for 2500 metres along the residential zone known as the Golden Mile of Marbella. Made up of grey sand the beach is flanked by an attractive promenade, two 4 star hotels, beach clubs and varying restaurants. Though Nagueles beach is popular (especially during the peak season) its size and locale ensure that it does not get quite as busy as those found closer to Marbella’s town centre. A pleasant and well equipped beach Playa Nagueles has been awarded the European blue flag for cleanliness and is worth visiting.

Facilities include; Water sports, sun beds and umbrellas, toilets and showers, windsurfing, Kayaking, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa Venus / Venus Beach

The 1000 metre Playa Venus is situated to the side of the Puerto Deportivo de Marbella (Marbella’s marina). With views of the marina this beach is conveniently located and flanked by palm trees, separating the beach from its urban surroundings.

Facilities include; Sun beds and umbrellas, toilets and showers, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa El Fontanilla / El Fontanilla Beach

Though relatively small at 800 meters Playa El Fontanilla is very popular amongst locals and tourists alike. This largely due to its proximity to Marbella’s town centre and the abundance of facilities that this brings. The beach has recently been regenerated; mainly in terms of its cosmetic appearance and with the addition of much vegetation. With a high turnout during the summer months you will find there are plenty of sun beds and parasols available here, in addition to the standard water sports options. A multitude of chiriguitos (beach front cafes) and restaurants can be found on all sides.

Facilities include; Sun beds and umbrellas, water sports, toilets and showers, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.

Playa Casablanca / Casablanca Beach

Playa Casablanca is a very pleasant beach made up of light golden sand. Situated on the western side of town this beach services many of the up market residences that stretch between Marbella and Puerto Banus. It is 1500 metres in length and connects with Playa El Fontanilla.

Facilities include; Sun beds and umbrellas, water sports, toilets and showers, ramps and provision for people with disabilities, life guards, and regular police patrols.
